Voice for Trees PAC (VFT-PAC) is the political action committee of the Tree Care Industry Association.
VFT-PAC helps build relationships with elected officials and supports candidates who understand the value of professional tree care and the issues that matter most to our industry. The PAC works alongside TCIA’s advocacy and grassroots programs to strengthen the industry’s voice in the policymaking process.

Is VFT-PAC affiliated with a political party?
No. VFT-PAC is nonpartisan and is not affiliated with any political party. Candidate support decisions are based on factors such as industry impact, leadership, public policy positions, and willingness to engage on issues affecting tree care businesses.
Why does TCIA have a PAC?
TCIA advocates for the tree care industry through education, grassroots engagement, regulatory advocacy, and direct interaction with policymakers. VFT-PAC complements these efforts by helping build relationships with elected officials and supporting candidates who understand the industry’s priorities.
Who can contribute?
Federal law restricts who may contribute to and be solicited by VFT-PAC. Contributions must come from eligible individuals and may not be made by corporations. Eligibility requirements apply and vary depending on an individual’s relationship with a TCIA member company. Contact us for more details.
Can my company contribute?
Generally, contributions used for political purposes must come from individuals rather than corporations. However, certain corporate funds may be used in limited circumstances permitted by law, such as supporting PAC administrative expenses. Contributors should contact TCIA for guidance regarding eligibility and contribution rules.
Are contributions tax deductible?
No. Contributions to VFT-PAC are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
How much can I contribute?
Federal law limits the amount an individual may contribute to a political action committee during a calendar year. Current contribution limits are subject to federal law and may change.
Why do I need to complete an Authorization to Solicit form?
Federal Election Commission regulations require VFT-PAC to obtain written approval from owners or authorized executives of member companies before soliciting eligible employees for contributions. Completing the form does not obligate anyone to contribute—it simply allows TCIA to communicate with eligible individuals about VFT-PAC activities and opportunities to participate.
How are contribution decisions made?
VFT-PAC contribution recommendations are reviewed through the PAC’s governance process and in consultation with TCIA public policy staff. Decisions are based on supporting candidates who understand and seek to advance the interests of the commercial tree care industry.
Is my contribution public?
Federal law requires political committees to file reports with the Federal Election Commission. Certain contributor information may be publicly disclosed as required by law.
